A 100 years success story which began 1908 in Malden (Massachusetts, USA) - being established by Marquis M. Converse- with the manufacturing of the legendary basketball shoes "All Star".
The development of Converse was influenced from the very beginning by basketball, by diverse teams and professional players. Thus, 1921 Converse was able to get the basketball legend Chuck Taylor on board as name giver of the famous "Chuck Taylor All Star" shoes and as a sales co-worker. He was the one that had his unique Converse Patch sewed with his signature on the inside of the shoes to protect the ankles of the athletes - an epoch-making invention for those days. Other professional players like Grady Lewis, Joe Dean or Gilbert "Gib" Ford succeeded him. Converse is nowadays, far and wide beyond basketball, a successful, legendary sports shoe and lifestyle brand.
